WHAT WE DO
Where Service to the Elderly
Begins by Being a Friend

The underprivileged and especially the elderly have basic needs too that are not met and they are also facing social problems such as poor health, loneliness and humiliation.

It is also a fact that most elderly are willing to work even though they have poor health conditions. However, when they travel from place to place to engage in income generating activities, they are most of the time victims of tragic circumstances. Furthermore, those elderly people who are sick or disabled are dependent on their children, family members or their neighbors, even though these people, themselves, are struggling to improve their own condition.

Therefore, recognizing the problems facing this vulnerable segment of our society and to help them live comfortably in their individual neighborhoods, R.E.S.C.U.E is launching programs to provide skills and job placement.

Half of R.E.S.C.U.E’s mission is to educate the elderly and poor and the other half is to educate the world about the poor. Our vision is to strive for a world of leaders and citizens who have interacted with, and are truly knowledgeable about the world's poor. We believe in a "fast forward a smile " philosophy where education is free and available for all who seek it. Those of us who have received a free education pass it on by helping others less fortunate by teaching, interacting and learning. With just a few hours a week, our volunteers, children and sponsors are changing the world we live in. R.E.S.C.U.E, through its development work, seeks to address the needs of the poor in a holistic way. Through training, micro-loans, assistance with micro-business development, and counsel, R.E.S.C.U.E programs enable the very poor to support themselves financially, appreciate their immense worth as individuals, grow in the skills and knowledge necessary to lead in their communities. We work to enable the poor to free themselves from poverty in all its forms and come to know abundant life.

At R.E.S.C.U.E we are not looking for a handout but a hand up...help us end the cycle of poverty for them..
